  1. Apply through Taipei Economic and Cultural Offices in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa or their affiliated Cultural Centers. Application forms can be obtained at the above offices or downloaded online at the OCAC website (www.ocac.gov.tw) / overseas youth activities or the program website (www.aidsummer.net).
  2. Starting around February 1st, applicants can open a personal account on this website and login to fill in their profile after the account is established. Upload a recent personal photo (Max file size: 3MB), a copy of your transcript (Max file size: 3MB), a copy of the completed application form, and a personal statement in English (in Microsoft Word .doc format) with your name and current school on the first page of the statement. You will also have an option to upload supplemental documents that you feel can support your application. Please check the Guidelines of Online Application section for details. (Note that the expiration date of your passport must be later than Jan 2, 2016.) If you find that you accidentally loaded the wrong file, you can overwrite it with the correct one in the same file format. If you would like to check the uploaded file in the system, you must refresh or reload the page before clicking the link next to the Browse button.
  3. Click Updat button to save your information and click Submit button in the Profile section when you have checked everything over and are certain that all information stated is correct. To get a printable version of the Internet Registration Sheet which must be sent in with your application package, click “Print Internet Sheet”. Print out a copy and send it in with the rest of the application package.
  4. Applicants must send in the application package by Febrary 28, 2016 to the culture center nearest their home address. DO NOT ATTACH YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT IN THE PACKAGE ENVELOPE THAT WAS SENT TO OUR OFFICE. You should have your school send your transcript directly. After receiving your document, a RECEIVED status will be posted to your account in one to two weeks. Please check the status in your account to make sure your application was received and logged in the system. IT WILL BE UP TO THE APPLICANTS THEMSELVES TO FOLLOW UP ON POSSIBLE MISSING DOCUMENTS.
  5. Request for one unofficial transcript including all cumulative grades from the institute(s) of your highest level of education to keep available on hand and request for an official transcript to be sent directly to your selected Registration Office as early as possible. A RECEIVED status will be posted to your account within two weeks after the receipt of your transcript.
  6. The initial results will be sent to OCAC for final review before March 20. The admission letters will be released online. You can go to your account to access your letter using your user ID and password on or after March 30. The volunteer ID numbers will be included in the conditional admission letters.
  7. Admitted volunteers must go to their personal account to confirm their participation. They must also go to a family doctor to complete the Health Form, upload the signed certificate to their personal web account, and mail it in to the above office nearest their home address.
  8. Admitted volunteers should also go to the online forum to upload teaching plans, register their flight schedule, select group transportation, and meet other fellow volunteers. Admitted volunteers must upload a copy of their purchased airline ticket or evidence of purchase on or before May 15. The admission may be withdrawn if missing any required information. The initial teaching plan and the revised teaching plan, surveys, and reflection essay that should be written after the program must be submitted online.
  9. The assigned host school or institution for each admitted volunteer will be posted to his/her web account at the end of May.Volunteers must have sent in all required materials to receive their assignment.
