School Information
Dahu elementary school is located in a Hakka village and half of the students are Hakka.
Dahu elementary school, positioned in a rural area, is also an educational centre of local community. Parents in Dahu have high expectations on their kids’ education and proficiency of foreign language. The school is surrounded by rice fields in Pitou township of Changhua county. Students are simple-hearted.
In response to the trend of internationalization in education, Dahu applied the plan of the English instruction module to cultivate their global vision and improve their proficiency in worldwide communication. It is hoped that kids will have more opportunities to use English in their daily life and improve all the four skills of English which may motivate them to learn English.

大湖國小位處客家庄，客家子弟占學校人數一半，屬偏遠學校，為一村一校之社區教育中心，家長對子女教育期望高，對於外語能力亦頗重視。
學校位於彰化縣埤頭鄉，附近是一望無際的稻田，是一座田園小學，學童天真活潑。
因應國際化社會趨勢，為增進學生國際視野及國際交流能力，本校申請強化英語教學模組計畫，期盼能增加學生英語接觸學習機會，提升聽說讀寫能力，進一步激發學生學習興趣，促進學生英語應用能力，使英語生活化。

Town Info
Pitou township of Changhua county is in the north Jhuoshuei River of central Taiwan. Being lack of water for agriculture, people built an irrigation project named “Pi”(pond) between Pitou township and Tienwei township. Pitou is named because its location at the origin of ”Pi.”
Agriculture is the main property of Pitou and rice with high quality is the souvenir. The sightseeing spot is Hexing Temple, a TaoismDaoism (Chinese system of beliefs) temple to worship Matsu the godness of sea.
. The people there are simple-minded, hard-working and with great hospitality.

彰化縣埤頭鄉位於台灣中部濁水溪北岸，因為農田灌溉不易，以前在埤頭鄉與田尾鄉交界處開闢一個大埤，以供農田灌溉之用，本鄉地處大埤之頭，因此稱為埤頭。
埤頭產業主要以農業為主，特產是品質優良的稻米。埤頭鄉名勝則有合興宮，為一座祀奉媽祖的道教宮廟。
大湖國小位於大湖村，大湖社區閩南語客家族群各半，民風純樸，居民勤勉努力，極富人情味。

造訪鹿港古蹟、民俗文物館及小吃，讓國際志工了解台灣傳統文化與歷史。
Visit the historical sites, Folk Arts Museum and Taiwanese Snacks in LuKong. Let the Student Volunteers know the traditional culture and history of Taiwan.

二、中興穀堡(Rcice Museum)
中興穀堡是一座稻米博物館，位於埤頭鄉彰水路上，是田園主題及稻米文化教育最佳的資源。館內建置有稻米實驗園區、農田文物展示廳、稻米學習步道、米食DIY教室。

Besides, it also introduces the native limited Zong Xin rice Castle special rice for summoning the simple but deep affection of rice.
